Trial has been postponed for 54-year-old Marjorie Reitzell, a woman who was charged with DUI and killing a San Francisco Bay Area couple out for walking with their dog.
On Tuesday, San Mateo County prosecutors said that Reitzell complained of chest pains and was not cleared to appear in court.
Reitzell was charged with 2 counts each of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and felony DUI in connection with last week’s accident due to which 45-year-old Kamal Singh and 50-year-old Balbir Singh died.
The couple was walking their dog in the bike lane of a Menlo Park street when they were hit from behind by Reitzell, according to the authorities.
Reitzell has a previous misdemeanor DUI conviction. Ronald, Reitzell’s brother, told reporters that she had a mental breakdown while attempting to stay sober. He said she does not remember the accident.
